Hello Fellow Soldiers of the Cross!
What you are about to read is a short meditation that I put together for one of my assignments here at Ellerslie Training Institute (www.ellerslie.com). It is a collaboration of scriptures having to do with the immutability and eternality of God. El Olam, is the Hebrew name for God meaning, "The Everlasting One."
Except for a few sentences, this meditation is entirely scripture. All of the pronouns have been changed to personal pronouns. At the bottom of this meditation you will find all of the verses that I used to put this assignment together. The verses are listed in the order that they were used.
It is my prayer that as you read this meditation you come away with a greater love and adoration for our beloved bridegroom, Jesus Christ. Enjoy!
The Immutable El Olam
Do
you not know? Have you not heard? I am El Olam, the everlasting God, the LORD,
the Creator of the ends of the earth. I
faint not, neither am weary. There is no
searching of my understanding. I am the
true and living God. I change not. I am the same yesterday, today, and
forever. I am the first and the last. I
am the alpha and omega, the beginning and the ending, which is, and which was,
and which is to come.
I
am eternally the same. My nature is
inviolable. It is impossible for me to
violate it. I am bound by my eternal attribute
of immutability. In me there is no
variableness or shadow of turning. I am
not a man, that I should lie; neither the son of man, that I should repent;
hath I said, and shall I not do it? or hath I spoken, and shall I not make it
good? I endure forever and am remembered
unto all generations.
I
am he that liveth and was not dead and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen;
and have the keys of hell and death. In
the beginning, I have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the
works of my hands: They shall perish; but I remain; and they all shall wax old
as doth a garment; and as a vesture I shall roll them up, and they shall be
changed, but I am the same, and my years shall not fail. Before Abraham was, I AM.
I
am the King forever and ever. My kingdom
is an everlasting kingdom, and my dominion endures throughout all
generations. My counsel standeth for
ever, the thoughts of my heart to all generations. I will accomplish all my purposes. I am in one mind, and who can turn me? And
what my soul desires, even that I do. I
am good; my mercy is
everlasting; and my truth endureth
to all generations. I only do wondrous
things.
Ye
are my witnesses, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and
understand that I am he: before me there
was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I am the LORD, and there is none else, there
is no God beside me: I girded thee,
though thou hast not known me: That they
may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none
beside me. I am the LORD, and there is
none else. My throne is established of
old: I am from everlasting. Before the
mountains were brought forth, or ever I had formed the earth and the world,
even from everlasting to everlasting I am God. Amen!
